What if I don’t live near a beach? Can rivers, ponds and other waterways be cleaned?

We consider shorelines to be any place that land meets water. This means that rivers, ponds, lakes, streams, marshes and all other types of waterways are suitable for a shoreline cleanup. Remember, not all litter is obvious on first glance. If a shoreline looks clean, look again! There is probably shoreline litter to be found. Smaller litter items may be buried in the sand, between rocks or hidden along the edges of logs.
