A. If you are not satisfied you may request a Fair Hearing before the Citys Fair Hearing Officer. You must request the hearing in writing within 5 business days of receiving your decision from the city. We will schedule a Fair Hearing within 5 business days after we receive your request. You can present your views at the hearing and question witnesses. The Fair Hearing Officer will issue a written decision within 5 business days after the hearing. If you are still not satisfied, you have 30 days to appeal to Superior Court. If you think the decision violated State GA law you may also call the Department of Human Services to complain at 1-800-442-6003 or locally 287-2876. The Department of Human Services oversees the General Assistance Program in every municipality in the state and provides partial funding for the program statewide.
