If you are not happy with the outcome of the review and there are no plans to amend the statement then you should ask the SENCO to keep in close contact with you regarding the progress that your child is making. If recommendations to change or cease the statement have been made and you are unhappy with this you should state this at the meeting and this should be written on the report of the meeting that is sent to the LA. You also have the right to appeal against recommendations that you disagree with. The Parent Partnership Service can provide information on both the Disagreement Resolution Service and how to appeal. Back to top Will the LA automatically make changes to the statement if they are recommended at the review meeting? No, the LA will consider all the available evidence before making a decision to amend the statement. If the LA decides not to amend the statement it must write to you within one week of making the decision to explain why this decision has been reached. There
