What if I disagree with the logic that EMG Whiz uses to rule in or rule out a diagnosis?
For EMG Whiz to work, the logic for each diagnosis must be very specific. Practice guidelines do not exist for many EMG diagnoses, and those that do exist are not expressed in terms that are easily translated into this type of logic. Thus, there is no consensus on exactly which studies are needed to rule in or rule out many of these diagnoses. EMG Whiz uses one set of logic, but we would not profess that it is the only one that is right. In general, EMG Whiz tends to err on the side of requiring more thorough examinations, which may lead to more “negative” feedback. Hopefully, this will draw users’ attention to valuable teaching points, and they can determine for themselves what logic they would use in real life scenarios.
