Maryland is part of the Interstate Reciprocal Overpayment Recovery Arrangement (IRORA) under which participating states recover overpayments for each other. If you have filed for Maryland Unemployment Insurance and Maryland is requested by another state to assist them with recovery of your debt to them, Maryland will intercept any Maryland UI entitlement for which you file telecerts and send those benefit amounts to that requesting state. Any questions, appeals or other repayment arrangements, regarding that state’s debt, must be addressed by you with the other state.
