If you are a dual licensed engineer and land surveyor in New York, you need 36 hours for your engineer license and 24 hours for your land surveyor license. Engineers can use land surveyor courses towards their requirement. Land surveyors cannot use engineer courses towards their requirement. However, any course taken for both licenses must be taken within the renewal period for each license. New York licensees can only take 18 hours online for Engineers and 8 hours online for Land Surveyors.
