What if I am already in the U.S. in another visa status and want to come to UNC-CHAPEL HILL on a J-1 visa?
Please send OISSS your CV, a legible photocopy of your I-94 card front and back, visa stamp page from your passport, current immigration document (for example your I-20 or I-20/DS-2019/H1-B approval notice of your family member who is the primary visa holder), and passport information page as well as providing us the original date you entered the U.S. in your current visa status scholar (if different from your current I-94). *If you access to a scanner, you may scan these documents and email them to us for quicker processing.
