What if I already have a private pilots license when I arrive at Western?
Transport Canada allows students to transfer 50% of their previous flight training time (to a maximum of 30 hours) into an Integrated Commercial Pilots License (ICPL) program, such as the one offered at Western. In order to receive the 30-hour credit, a student with previous flight training experience will be required to take an assessment flight with the Chief Flight Instructor at Empire Aviation and demonstrate an appropriate level of proficiency. 3. Do I have to retake the Private Pilots License ground school if I already have my license when I arrive at Western? Yes. Even if you already have a Private Pilots License you will be required to participate in the Private Pilot ground school in the BACS/CAM program. This is a Transport Canada mandated requirement of the Integrated Commercial Pilot License program.
