What if Harry had been placed in Slytherin House?
On the train to Hogwarts, Harry shared a lunch with the red-haired kid he met at Platform 9. Ron was funny and full of magical tales from his big family. Best of all, he seemed to think that Harry’s bothersome birthmark was a “wicked awesome” scar. Some girl came by asking about a kid’s lost toad, and Harry could tell that Ron was instantly in love. She seemed kind of uptight to Harry, though. Inside the school, all the first year kids waited at the stairwell. Professor McGonagall was about to lead them into the Sorting Ceremony where they’d be divided into their houses. The forgetful kid found his toad, earning the professor’s glare. “There’s a Hufflepuff if I ever saw one,” someone mumbled from the back. A blonde kid in a fine robe introduced himself to Harry. “I’m Malfoy, Draco Malfoy.” He was a little bratty towards Ron, but from how well-dressed he was and his confident attitude, Harry knew this kid could be a useful friend.
