What if faculty members want to propose courses that their departments would not support?
At some level, the course does need support from within a department. We also are asking in the letters of intent from faculty for a letter from the provost of the faculty member’s campus. We are looking for courses that will fit into the curriculum. If there is resistance in a department to offering a course online, project staff could talk to the department about trying to get support to help make this course happen. Faculty could also consider collaborating with others at different campuses where there is support.
