What if drug rehabilitation programs only focused on behavior and not attitudes?

Then they would not work. Nearly all the people devoting themselves to rehabilitation have all heard, ‘Act like this and be like this’, and all had lectures on what needs to change, but the only thing that will work is understanding them and genuinely wanting to help them past their addiction. If there’s anything ‘bad’ about them from doing drugs then that will be ‘fixed’ by stoppingg them from doing drugs. All rehabilitation centres need to focus on is giving a support system that works and involves the people in it in activity’s they feel engaged in. The main problem about stoppin people from doing drugs isn’t trying t find out and fix what made them start drugs, but why they choose drugs as opposed to alternatives and then supporting them in making the right choice.
