What, if any, are the legal requirements of an arbitration agreement under the laws of Sweden?
There are no formal requirements pertaining to the form of arbitration agreements under Swedish law. Such agreement can be concluded orally, in writing or by means of the parties’ conduct. An arbitration agreement is subject to the general rules of Swedish contract law. For an arbitration agreement to exist there must be an agreement between two or more parties providing for resolution by arbitration of an identified and defined legal relationship.
