What, if any, are the advantages of opening up a dollar store franchise?
A. While there are many advantages in franchising, ie. advertising, brand name recognition etc, it is not necessarily the case in regards to dollar stores. Pennies count in the dollar store business. Franchising royalties can negatively affect the bottom line in many ways: They lower the profit margin of each sale and they affect the ability to buy many items that are higher priced and better value. These are the main things that attract people to want to shop and come back to the store.
