What if an offender is set to be discharged from probation or parole and still owes restitution?

It is possible that an offender’s time on probation may be extended beyond that offender’s discharge date, if the offender has not made a good faith effort to pay restitution. A Victim who is still owed restitution can bring that to the attention of the Probation/Parole Agent by calling or writing the office where the offender is being supervised. It is not possible to extend an offender’s time on Parole. A victim can file a civil suit for unpaid restitution. County Clerk of Courts Offices have information on filing a civil lawsuit.
