What if an employee continues to work overtime after being informed by his/her supervisor that working overtime is not appropriate?
Employees in non-exempt positions must obtain supervisory approval prior to working overtime. However, employees who work overtime without supervisory approval may be subject to disciplinary action, pursuant to Policy and Procedure 2-9. Please note: Any employee who works overtime (with or without supervisory approval) must be paid for hours worked. Disciplinary action may not involve changing timecards nor requiring employees to not record unauthorized time worked.
