What if a voter makes a mistake on their paper ballot?
A voter who makes a mistake on his or her paper ballot may request a second one, so long as the first ballot hasnt already been fed into the scanner or deposited into the ballot box. If a voter receives a second ballot, a poll worker will mark the first as spoiled. A voter who makes a mistake on an electronic ballot (i.e. using a DRE machine) must correct the mistake before pressing the Cast Vote button. Errors cannot be corrected afterwards.
