What if a victim believes they should be getting restitution, but are not receiving any checks?
Most offenders are on a monthly payment plan. But, if the offender is in jail, or in a treatment facility, or if their employment status has changed as a result of being laid-off/injured/fired from their job, an offender may not make payments as scheduled. Another possible explanation for not receiving Restitution checks may be that the Department of Corrections may not have a victim’s current address. Victims who have questions about restitution should contact the Probation and Parole office where the offender is being supervised. It is very important that victims keep their addresses current with the Department of Corrections! If the Department of Corrections does not have a current address, it cannot mail restitution checks.
