What if a student requires inpatient mental health treatment?
Students desiring inpatient psychiatric treatment should contact the Department of Counseling and Psychological Services ((740) 376-4477) for a referral for routine evaluation for inpatient treatment. In the case of a mental health emergency, students may go directly to the Emergency Room at Marietta Memorial Hospital (401 Matthew Street, Marietta, OH 45750, (740) 374-1400; www.mmhospital.org ), where they will b evaluated for psychiatric admission at the nearest available inpatient facility. Marietta Memorial Hospital does not provide inpatient psychiatric treatment. If a mental health crisis which may require inpatient treatment occurs during regular office hours, students may contact the Department of Counseling and Psychiatric Services for assistance with admission.
