What if a student doesn wish to participate or a parent or guardian doesn want his or her child to participate?
Schools may want to allow students to opt out of Meat-Free Monday (by having a parent or guardian write to the school) or suggest that the student bring a packed lunch that day. Alternatively, schools may wish to approach Meat-Free Monday in the same way that they approach any other environmental policy (such as recycling, which is not optional).
