What if a room is assigned to a faculty member on sabbatical?
Under “Comments,” identify the individual and indicate “Sabbatical”. If a room is assigned to and being used by a faculty member who is on sabbatical and the individual is doing NON-GRANT WORK, the utilization of the room is 100% Instruction/Departmental Research. If the faculty member is working on a GRANT-RELATED work (Organized Research, Instruction or Other Sponsored Activities) while occupying the space, then the utilization of the room should be the same function as the grant account for that portion of the time and default the remainder to Instruction/Departmental Research . For example: Faculty member’s effort is 70% Organized Research, then the room utilization would be 70% Organized Research and 30% Instruction/Departmental Research.
