What if a pen pal doesn know what to write about?
Help them brainstorm a couple ideas. They can tell a story about when they were younger, tell about a class they really like, something fun they did, something about themselves, something related to the classroom theme, or ask questions of their pen pal (appropriate of course) or tell about siblings, pets, hobbies, etc. • How do I collect the letters?
