What if a learners score falls below or above the valid range?
If the learner’s score falls below the valid range, the score does not provide enough information to determine specific instructional needs. The learner should retest with a lower level test as soon as possible. If a learner’s score falls above the valid range, the score can be used as a conservative estimate; however, the student should be tested with a higher level test, because the test was most likely too easy.
