What if a Barclaycard Prepaid purchase is declined?

0

This may happen if the balance on the card is less than – or is likely to be less than – the value of the goods you are trying to purchase. If so you can ask the merchant to take some payment in cash and tell them how much payment to take from your card. This is subject to the individual policy of the merchant involved. Please note that with some merchants – for example, restaurants, mail-order companies and cruise lines – the card needs to have an available balance greater than the purchase amount, to make sure there are sufficient funds for tips or incidental expenses. However, only the actual amount spent will be deducted from the card at completion of the transaction. Also, a transaction could be denied if the amount held by the merchant exceeds the balance on the card.
