Yet again, people spouting of incorrect information about the laws. Geez, why do people feel the need to spread mis-information. Ok here ya go: by car or bus right now (travelling either direction across the border) you will be required to show Government issued ID (such as a driver’s licence) AND proof of citizenship (such as birth certificate). OR you can just show a passport. So if you have one, YES it will work perfectly fine all on it’s own. This goes for all border crossings between Canada and the US. Passport will be required in June 2009…if the law doesn’t get pushed back yet again. (except for air travel, then it is 100% required). The quote a previous poster shows is taken out of context and is for what the new laws WILL be. I love when people don’t read the whole thing *insert eye roll* Good luck!
