What Housing Issues Are There For Homeless People?
I work at the homeless shelter in my city-I’m not sure what you mean by “housing issues”, so bear with me. Our program allows ‘guests’ to stay at the shelter for up to 90 days. Guests come for a variety of reasons: The domestic shelter is full, drifters, people who are between homes (i.e. Evicted from one place and looking for another), drug addicted or mentally ill persons, the inability/not wanting to pay for rent/housing…There are so many people living paycheck to paycheck right now, that it’s easy to become homeless. There is a total lack of funds for shelters though; our entire shelter is run on volunteers- people who make dinner every night, emergency personnel, office staff, direct care workers, transportation-and on general monetary donations. ….This is a great site to visit to find out more. Like I said, I’m not completely sure if this answers your question, but message me so I can help!
