What housekeeping services are provided?
Residence Halls The bathroom is cleaned and the carpet vacuumed on a weekly basis. Your custodian will post the cleaning schedule in your room. Prior to the custodian’s arrival you are expected to remove all your belongings from the bathroom sink counter and shower stall. All clothing must be picked up off the floor. If you fail to do this, your bathroom will not be cleaned or your room will not be vacuumed. Apartments The bathrooms in the academic agreement apartments will be cleaned on a weekly basis. Each residence hall has a housekeeping staff. Students are responsible for the cleanliness of their own rooms, disposing of their own trash and leaving all public areas in clean condition. Public areas include lounges, kitchens, hallways, hall and/or suite bathrooms, study rooms, stairways and lobbies. Residents may be billed for additional cleaning if the public areas are not kept sufficiently clean. Students who live in Craige North, Hardin Hall, Horton Hall, and Ehringhaus South are required to clean their suite bathroom, and students provide their own cleaning supplies. Transfer students who may be assigned to an apartment in Odum Village are responsible for cleaning the interior of their respective apartments. Housekeeping staff are responsible for cleaning the common areas within each building and the Community Services Building.
