There are a number of brand name hotels near the KC airport (10 minutes from our house): Embassy Suites, Courtyard By Marriott, Drury Inn, etc. Any of them are fine. We suggest the Embassy Suites for comfort and value. If you wish to stay in the downtown or the Country Club Plaza areas of town, we suggest the Marriott (downtown) or the Raphael or Intercontinental (Plaza area). If you are coming to Kansas City early, there is much to see: Truman Presidential Library, Nelson-Atkins Art Museum, National WWI Museum, Union Station, Country Club Plaza, KC Jazz Museum, Negro Leagues Baseball Museum, etc.
