Home networking enables users at home to share computers, peripherals, smart appliances, stereos, speakers, entertainment devices, and high speed Internet access to the world. HomePlug compliant power line networking ICs are expected to be first incorporated into PC-centric applications. Other consumer electronic applications will follow shortly as PC-centric HomePlug products start to gain market acceptance. All types of home electronic devices will potentially be built with HomePlug enabling ICs.
