Hip hop for the longest time represented self expression through the four elements, it’s become a culture: The beat, the rhyme, the break, and the art. The beat inspired all but one of the elements. It inspired the MC (Master of Ceremonies), and the break dancers. The term B Boy originated from the Bronx NY, there have been disputes over what B Boy actually means; some people say that it means Beat Boy and some say it means Bronx Boy. I wouldn’t say that it’s monotone at all, as the beats got better so did lyricists and break dancers. Hip hop, even modern Mainstream Rap has given minorities a way to express how they feel and the world that they grew up in.
