The Great Cobar Heritage Centre exhibits a wonderful collection of artefacts dating from 1869 to the present day. Once the former Administration Building of the Great Cobar Copper Mine (circa 1910), the Centre now show cases the rich history of Cobar’s pioneers, the extraordinary diverse local heritage of Cobar and also mining displays and traditional Aboriginal artefacts. Outside the Centre is Cobar’s first copper mining site, an ‘Open-Cut’ lake which offers stunning views. The Centre has a souvenir and gift shop with a range of merchandise available for purchase and free information brochures are also available. Visitors can also pick up information brochures free of charge. Free barbeque facilities, picnic areas and toilets are available which visitors are welcome to use. Opening Hours are 8:30am to 5pm Monday to Friday. Weekends and Public Holidays 9am to 5pm.
