What help is available for the different kinds of needs people have?
Lots of children find school and education hard at times. If you have any problems talk to your teacher or another adult you trust. Remember you’re not alone and people want to help you! If your teacher, parent or carer thinks you might need a bit of extra support with school and education they might try to arrange for you to have something called an assessment. This is nothing to worry about. It’s how people can find out the best way to help you. Here are some of the different ways children in Hull can get help from the Special Educational Needs Support Service (SENSS). Support teachers visit schools and work with children who may need extra support. Some children with medical problems find it hard to go to their regular school and need to use the Home Tuition Service. This is where a pupils’ school gives them work to do and they have a home tutor to help them do it.
