Zyprexa and other antipsychotic medications can cause serious problems such as: • Since Zyprexa disturbs the delicate metabolism and insulin balance, several different types of diabetic side effects can occur. These include diabetes Mellitus, diabetes ketoacidosis, diabetic coma, and diabetic hyperosmolar syndrome. • A life-threatening nervous system problem called neuroleptic malignant syndrome (NMS).
