What health precautions should I take when travelling overseas?
It depends somewhat on where you are going. But the basics: 1. Get all the immunizations that are proper for the countries you’ll be going to- your doctor will know what you need. 2. Take any prescribed medications with you and put them in your carry on bag, never in luggage! 3. When in most foreign countries, it is usually best to drink only bottled water or drinks that came from sealed containers unless it is alcohol. It’s safer. 4. Salads, and anything raw, unless you are in a very good restaurant, can be risky. 5. Take extra stuff you might need that you take at home for upset stomach, headache, and so on with you since it is hard to find sometimes when you need it overseas and also often costs more. 6. Wash your hands even more often than you do in your own country! 7. If you plan on having sex with anyone other than who you know that is perhaps traveling with you, make sure it is very, very safe sex. That’s all I can think of off the top of my head.
