Many VA benefits, including the popular VA Health Care program, are available to veterans that have been discharged or released from active military service under other than dishonorable conditions. In some special cases, this applies for those that have completed as few as 90 days of active duty service, if the veteran served before September 7th 1980. Veterans who served in combat location after November 11, 1999, are eligible for free healthcare for conditions related for two years.
