What has the United States done about Darfur?

This declaration led many to believe that the US would lead the Security Council to adhere to the 1948 Genocide Convention responsibilities. Unfortunately, due to domestic politics and conflicts with current US foreign policy, this leadership has yet to be seen. However, the United States Congress has passed some legislation on issue. Last year, the Darfur Peace and Accountability Act (HR 3127/S 1462) which advocates for the expansion of the size and mandate of the African Union peacekeeping force in Darfur and increase logistical support. It also directs the government to assist the International Criminal Court (ICC) to bring justice to those guilty of war crimes in Darfur.
