WHAT HAS THE RESPONSE BEEN FROM THE BIG COFFEE COMPANIES?
We’ve had representatives from the coffee multinationals turn up to our screenings all over the world from Sundance to Stockholm. We’ve been debating the issues raised by Black Gold live on news channels with Kraft and Sara Lee and we continue to try and engage coffee companies about how they work with coffee farmers. Starbucks and Nestle have visited Ethiopia since the release and are buying more of Tadesse’s coffee (but we don’t know at what price!). Several other major coffee companies have started to buy coffee from Tadesse too and interest in African coffees in general is growing.
