What has the district done to help reduce the taxpayers burden?
Our school district has been working closely with local governmental agencies and municipalities to secure Impact Fees from new home developments. Impact fees may be used to modify or add to existing school facilities in order to meet the needs of our increasing student population. Transition fees have also been pursued to help cover the costs of additional teachers and instructional materials. Other forms of developer contributions have also been sought in order to help defray some of the expenses directly and indirectly incurred from new residences. The Board has also initiated resolutions to the state legislature seeking contributions through state construction grants as well as funding supports such as those associated with Rapid Growth District and Fair Funding of Illinois Public Education initiatives.
