What has the Chapter done to address the issue of social workers’ salaries?
NASW works with state officials and the legislature to protect social work jobs, increase social work salaries, and seek comparable pay for social workers. The Chapter provides information and consultation to individual social workers and agencies about social work salaries and benefits. NASW advocates with public and private agencies, schools and health care institutions on behalf of social work and utilization of social workers in these settings. In the past year, the Chapter issued the Workplace Standards document that provides guidelines to employers on social worker salaries, as well as standards of practice. This document was widely disseminated and marketed to major employers of social workers in the state. Would you like me to send you one?
