What has MAD Grants awarded thus far?
During the program’s first three years, 2002 – 2005, 573 applications were received. Out of those, 79 were funded. A complete list of the winning projects, as well as updates on their progress, can be found on this website. Some examples: grants allowed students in Des Moines Elementary to build their own marimba; helped send fifth-grade students at Stephenson Elementary to Camp Collins to experience Science; provided supplies to at-risk Math students at Highline High School; and helped introduce second graders to the great musical composers to name just a few of the winning projects.
