What has life been like for Tina Kneisley Dulong after your artistic roller skating days?
My last worlds was 1985 in Rimini, Italy. I was still in college at Bowling Green State University studying broadcast journalism. I worked at the University ice arena- home of Scott Hamilton. There were several good coaches there that took time with me, so I explored moving over to ice. I tried out with several pairs skaters and went to work with several coaches but I was tired of traveling and just wanted to graduate and get a good job and have a “normal” life. I did not relish the thought of starting over and traveling more, so I focused on graduating. I visited Tony St. Jacques in VA and interviewed while there and got a job at the local public television station after graduation. I dove into work, but kept my foot in the door by skating sophomore then junior figures for a few years. I also played around with finding a new pairs partner, but nothing worked out, and my heart wasn’t really into it. (Paul even agreed to coach me!)
