What has happened to the Wrexham Shuttle?
Wrexham County Borough Council can confirm that the Wrexham Shuttle, a demand responsive transport service operated from areas of North Wrexham to Wrexham Industrial Estate since May 2005, will cease operation on 1 April 2010. The service is being terminated partially as a result of the removal of funding by the Welsh Assembly Government. Wrexham County Borough Council has reached an agreement with Arriva Buses Wales to provide a fixed route local bus service that will assist the majority of the current Wrexham Shuttle passengers to maintain sustainable access to Wrexham Industrial Estate. This new service will operate between Wrexham General Station, Wrexham Bus Station and the Industrial Estate every 30 minutes from 5.30am until 7.00pm Monday to Saturday. Arriva Buses Wales, as the current operator of the Wrexham Shuttle will be providing existing passengers of the Shuttle with timetable leaflets in the next few days.
