What has happened to the Sporting News Baseball Register?

I cannot find the press release, but basically it was not earning its keep, so Sporting News discontinued the publication. Some alternatives: 1) Who’s who in Baseball – Not as pretty as the BR, and the paper is sometimes a little thin, but it has all the stats for anyone who appeared in the majors during the last season. It also includes complete minor league stats for each player. 2) Baseball America’s Super Register – This one is pricey ($80), but it’s like the Bible of organized baseball. Complete career stats not only for every major leaguer, but for every single player at any level of organized professional baseball. The Who’s Who is relatively cheap. I’d recommend both, depending on what you need.
