A number of splits claims were received during 2007/08. The cost of these were not included within the 2007/08 levy and as such are included within the 2008/09 indicative levy. The compensation for splits paid out during 2007/08, which has not yet been levied for, will appear as a deficit for the relevant firms in the previous contribution groups A7 / A9 and will be sent with the 2008/09 invoices in the summer of 2008. FSCS expects to deal with the bulk of new split claims during 2008/09, although these claims may continue into 2009/10.
