CDF Version 2.7 contains support for Java Application Program Interfaces (APIs), besides the current C and Fortran APIs, to allow the users to develop platform-independent CDF appications. CDF 2.7 also contains bug fixes as well as Java versions of the CDF tools (e.g. SkeletonCDF, SkeletonTable, CDFConvert, etc.). CDF Version 3.0 can create files bigger than 2 GB and CDF Epoch timestamp resolution of up to picoseconds. The CDF Java APIs also have been made thread-safe. See the V3.0 release notes for a detailed list of the things that have changed since V2.7. The Java APIs and tools are not fully tested for the OpenVMS operating sytem, and they’ll be made available, once fully tested, at the place where the new CDF 3.0 library is available. 4.
