What has changed in terms of evacuation procedures during the redevelopment?
Evacuation procedures for the Baillieu and Giblin Libraries will remain essentially the same throughout the redevelopment – no fire exits will be affected by the works that are being done. The Baillieu’s central staircase and the ground floor doors have never been fire escapes / exits, and should not be used in an emergency. Fire exits are marked clearly throughout the building. Library users should use marked fire exits, and follow the directions of library staff in an emergency.
