What has caused Woolworths and now Zavvi to go bust?
Woolworths didnt move with the times and were not competitive. Take computer games for example, if I looked in Woolies for an Xbox game the same game in Gamestation would be at least about £5 cheaper. Another example is when I was younger they did the ladybird clothes and they were really good quality. In the past few years they have been poor quality but with a relitivly high price for what they are. Zavvi is similar, they were still overpriced and not competitive, another problem with them is that their main products-dvds & cds are widely available at cheaper prices on the internet. In my town we used to have lots of cd shops but now we only have HMV which is quite competitive and has effective branding.
