What has caused womans role in society to change so much?
There are a lot of factors that lead to women changing their roles in society. The short answer was that women gained a level of freedom to be who they wanted to be. That freedom has led to many women doing things that had been prohibited in the past. This made it acceptable for women to try new things. As the next generation pushed the bar on what was acceptable, it moved farther along. Now, women can aspire to any role in society they desire. Certainly, there are still some areas in which women are not accepted equally to men, for example, running fortune 500 businesses. But those areas are limited now and in all likelihood will be gone in the near future.
