What has been proposed to regulate congestion and cut-through traffic in the surrounding area?
We are dedicated to providing traffic mitigations for the proposed upgrades to the Corporate Pointe at West Hills campus. Such mitigations will include regulating all vehicle flow in and out of campus; providing funds for building a landscaped median on Fallbrook Avenue to deter use of Eccles Street and Schoenborn Street as cut-throughs; and implementing a Transportation Demand Management (TDM) plan to include carpooling, can pools, bicycles, and rideshares. To date, Trammell Crow Company, on behalf of MEPT, has spent $860,000 to fund the Automated Traffic Surveillance and Control (ATSAC) system on Roscoe Boulevard. ATSAC is a computer-based traffic signal control system that monitors traffic conditions and system performance, selects appropriate signal timing (control) strategies, and performs equipment diagnostics and alert functions. Sensors in the street detect the passage of vehicles, vehicle speed, and the level of congestion, and time traffic lights accordingly.
