What has already been accomplished in the effort to form a housing endowment in San Mateo County?
From June 2002 to November 2002 a broad-based group of individuals from throughout the County explored the formation of a trust fund as a source of capital for additional workforce housing in the County and issued a report recommending the formation of a housing endowment. The group set the initial goal to raise $100 million for the first ten years. The County of San Mateo committed seed money of $3 million to kick off the endowment.
