What I don’t understand is why they are allowed to operate after their first violation? This company has been breaking the rules for 2 years! We need to protect Pennsylvania from this because all these companies care about is getting the gas and nothing about the environment or the people! From the AP: Gas exploration firm charged with Mercer County pollution Wednesday, December 02, 2009 The Associated Press GREENVILLE, Pa. — The Pennsylvania Attorney General has charged an Ohio natural gas exploration company with polluting land near an abandoned well in Mercer County. Energy Exploration & Development LLC, of Cortland, Ohio, has been charged with illegally discharging oil and other waste. The company did not immediately return a request for comment today. State prosecutors say the company is responsible for oil and brine water that leaked from a pipeline along Route 358 in West Salem Township near Greenville.
